Our journey with Hult Prize Foundation began on a field trip to Haiti’s Central Plateau region with their Founder & CEO, Ahmad Ashkar, a graduate of Hult International Business School.
At the time our Foundations were jointly supporting the establishment of sustainable water supply solutions in post-earthquake Haiti. A significant structural element was the election of a Water Committee in each village (above) to take control of their Water source and be responsible for its maintenance and management.
We continued our association with Hult Prize through active participation in their Annual Awards event in New York. In 2017, Ashok was invited to be a Team Mentor and Judge at the Boston Accelerator for the year’s finalists.
Later that same year, Ashok worked with the CEO on a new charter for Hult Prize Council, bringing together the many gifted Coaches & Mentors who support the Teams in their journey.
In 2018, Hult Prize assembled the world’s largest gathering of Student Teams from around the world, aspiring to become Social Entrepreneurs at their Accelerator in the UK. The venue was Hult’s International Executive Management Training School housed at Ashridge Castle.
Forty-two Teams competed for the six spots at the Hult Prize Finals at the United Nations in Sep-2018. Ashok had the opportunity of working with most of the teams over a six-week period and conducted a course entitled “The Path Forward” to help them all adapt to any outcome.
This year Hult Prize is celebrating a decade of work, mobilizing student teams at 1,200 Universities around the globe to address a major social problem: Youth Unemployment. We will continue our work with them, working with the teams to find the best within themselves and use it to change the world for the better.
