EKTA joined hands with The Streisand Foundation as a benefactor of The Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. This initiative, underwritten by Barbra’s commitment in establishing the Center, changes the landscape for all future treatment of women’s heart disease. No longer will their recovery be placed at risk due to inaccurate diagnostic methods based on the study of male heart disease. More women today succumb to heart disease than all cancers combined and the goal is to measurably impact the statistics. The Center will focus on characterizing female-pattern heart disease and develop gender-specific diagnostic protocols that advance preventive, specialized care for women at risk.
